Nineteen New Churches

Crowd

I’ve been to many conferences over the years, and the experience is usually pretty similar: big events, lots of new people, a few good connections but sometimes impersonal. Last week’s Acts 29 Boot Camp was quite different, and unexpected in many ways. Not only was I surprised by the personal renewal that I experienced, but I was also very encouraged by the camaraderie, brotherhood, and devotion that I encountered amongst the many present and future church planters that I interacted with. It was a great time of fellowship with some really good men who are starting new, Jesus-centered churches. It was really cool to see new pastor teams forming and learning from one another, and to hear the stories of how people are meeting Jesus at all of the various churches. At Mars Hill, we give 10 percent of our budget to church planting efforts. So in a very real way, all of us who participate in the mission through giving are also supporting many other churches. This year alone we will give well over $1 million to church planting. In order to give you a better idea about what this means, I’d like to introduce the churches that Mars Hill Church is directly supporting this year. Please be in prayer for them, and thank you for helping to make a global impact for the gospel.
