Notes, thoughts, and highlights from yesterday's Mars Hill Church services (via twitter). The sermon was titled Suffering to Bless: 1 Peter 3:8–17.
@jgschaeffer: Don't make light of suffering. On other hand don't exalt suffering higher than it is. Some use past suffering as an excuse for sin. #MHC
@Aadom: People want to see how Christianity works. That only happens in community. #mhc
@vbportraits: Suffering makes the gospel credible. When people say & do evil against you, respond w/ good. That takes a miracle. #mhc
@vbportraits: We need to be a people that love all of the churches that love Jesus. Don't be speaking evil of other churches or church leaders. #mhc
@ezekielrudick: Don't treat God like a trustworthy executive assistant. #mhc
@neyugnj: re:answering q's you don't know the answer to: "a humble mind says, 'I don't know.' The goal is not to look smart, but to share Jesus." #mhc
@dustindk: Most of us will not pursue fellowship until we are suffering--so true. #MHC
@docbradley: Great message today, @PastorMark wants #MHC to pray for @pastorwendell ... "Let's love the whole body of Christ" ... Jesus FTW!
@jordanbuckley: @pastormark: "I'm deeply convicted that I've often responded to offense out of my offendedness rather than out of the gospel." #mhc
@devondennis: @marshillbld can't fit everyone in the building! Praise Jesus for the expansion of the gospel! #mhc
