How to Pray for Mars Hill Church
Last week one of our members sent me a letter to Mars Hill Church from early 2003, just before we moved into the building now known as the Ballard campus. "Never in the six-year history of our church have we taken such an enormous step forward," Pastor Mark wrote once upon a time, "and there is much to pray about." God answered all of the prayer requests in that letter: carpet and chairs for the sanctuary, sufficient volunteers to run all two (!) services, more community groups, etc. I hope you join me in prayer for our church body. Be encouraged; Jesus is faithful. Here are some things to be in prayer for today, in 2009, as the "enormous steps forward" keep on coming:
- Federal Way Campus. For Pastor Samuel Choi and the growing core group that will start a brand new outpost for the gospel this fall.
- Albuquerque Campus Transition. This is a big change—especially for the New Mexico congregation. Please pray for them and their leaders.
- Mars Hill Global. For more people to join us to bring the gospel around the world. The Great Commission continues to motivate us.
- The Ground War. That we would care for our people well—through Redemption Groups, community groups, etc.
- Marriages. There will be literally hundreds of Mars Hill newlyweds this year.
- Discernment. There are a lot of opportunities out there. Your pastors need wisdom and discernment to proceed faithfully.
