Thank you, Mars Hill Church. I know the past twelve months or so have been financially difficult for some at Mars Hill. But despite the hardship of some, our collective giving as a church body has remained steady. I’m thankful for the hundreds of individuals and families who sacrifice regularly by giving what they can and more out of worship and gratitude to God. During the next few weeks, we still need strong regular giving in order to make budget. Since we’re on track to hit this target, however, our year-end giving push will not only pay the bills, but could also allow us to pursue much more. It’s called the Generous Campaign, and to kick things off here are a few things you should know:

You Decide

When giving to the Generous Campaign, you can choose to contribute to the Global Fund or your Campus Fund. The Global Fund will go to starting new Mars Hill campuses, planting new churches with the Acts 29 Network, providing more free resources online, and training more leaders. The Campus Fund benefits building projects and other local efforts.

Mercy Partners & Projects

Each of Mars Hill’s nine campuses has identified a mercy partner or project that will benefit from the Generous Campaign. Ten percent of everything given to your Campus Fund will go directly to your campus’s partner or project.

Global Giving Match: $1 Million

Thanks to one particularly generous family at Mars Hill Church, all contributions to the Global Fund will be matched up to $1 million total. That means if we can raise $1 million during the next few weeks, $2 million will go to our worldwide effort to plant as many churches and make as many disciples of Jesus as possible (Mt 28:19; Acts 1:8; 1 Cor 9:22–23).

Above and Beyond

We’ve set some big goals for the next few weeks: $2 million for the Campus Funds and $1 million for the Global Fund. We must pursue these targets without compromising our regular ministry work. In other words, continue to give as you normally would to Mars Hill Church (the General Fund), then prayerfully consider what God would have you designate above and beyond for the Generous Campaign.

It’s All About Jesus

Our desire to expand and build is not an effort to promote Mars Hill Church—in fact it is the exact opposite. God has blessed us with a finite number of days and resources, and we want to do our best to use all of it to tell everyone about Jesus.
