As the Bible describes it, the heart of the giver matters more than the amount of the gift. This is one of the reasons why Mars Hill doesn’t prescribe a specific percentage of your income that should go to the church. For some, ten percent is a huge sacrifice while for others it isn’t even a dent.
In either case, our financial habits indicate what we truly love. In other words, as Pastor Mark explains, love is not what we feel or what we say; love is what we do:
