I love this time of year. It might be the pumpkin pies or the smell of the Christmas Tree as I walk in the house. On top of traditional activities, there are many great service opportunities to take part in. I know you’re thinking to yourself, "This is when Rob begs for volunteers." Not this time.
The Lake City campus has become known as the family campus, where true community happens. While this is great and exactly what we are called to as Christians, we can quickly become insular and form holy huddles. And forget the unsaved people that live all around us. We
should serve Jesus
outside the church as well.
Here’s an opportunity coming up where we can serve those outside our church:
In January, the
North Helpline Food Bank is moving to a new location just south of the Lake City Fred Meyer. On the week of January 4th, volunteers are needed to help pack and prep for the move. On the week of January 11th, volunteers are needed to help actually move the food bank to their new location.
There are plenty of opportunities to serve. If you’re not serving at the Church, start serving there
and in our local community. If you’re already serving at the Church, great. Now take it a step further and love others in our area.
