Dr. Piper hails from Minneapolis, where he serves as the Pastor for Preaching at Bethlehem Baptist Church and the founder of Desiring God Ministries. Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, he received his B.A. from Wheaton College in Illinois, his Bachelor in Divinity from California’s Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate in Theology from the University of Munich in what was at the time West Germany. He is the author of over 40 books, most recently A Sweet & Bitter Providence: Sex, Race, and the Sovereignty of God (Crossway Books, 2010).
