Download the worship set from Easter 2010.
There is no shortage of amazing stories from Good Friday and
Easter 2010. Nearly 400 people confessed Jesus as their Lord and Savior and were baptized. Guys in suits jumped over rows of chairs to be dunked, fathers baptized daughters, friends saved together were baptized together.
There’s a story about the music as well. During the first song of the first Easter service at the Ballard campus, worship pastor Joel Brown lost his voice and literally couldn’t sing another word. The worship team scrambled and called another Mars Hill singer, Lance Moore, to replace Pastor Joel.
Fifteen minutes later, and just in time for the second service, Lance showed up in a suit ready to sing with a band he’d never played with. When was the last time you heard of a musician getting anywhere in 15 minutes, let alone at 8 o’clock in the morning?
What you hear in these songs from Easter are songs we love at Mars Hill—songs that exalt Jesus and his work for us, and celebrate his grace. The cheers you hear in the background (if you listen closely) celebrate God’s grace each time someone got baptized.
