Meet the Churches of Revelation.

Over the next eight weeks, we will post pieces about the sites we will visit while in Turkey next year.

I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet saying, "Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea."

Revelation 1:11

In Revelation 1:11, Jesus instructs John who is on the island of Patmos to write each of the Seven Churches a letter "Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea." The sites of these Seven Churches still exist today and during this Expedition you will get a chance to visit them. In chapters 2 and 3 each of the seven letters are written to address specific items related to that church.  Each letter is conclude with instructions to hold fast and listen to what the Spirit has to say.  And each church is promised that everyone who conquers will be rewarded by Christ. This expedition is one of the biggest things Mars Hill Church has ever taken on and we want to thank everyone who has registered so far. For those of you who will experience it with us firsthand, you will get a unique chance to see the Bible like never before, and you will never be able to read the Bible the same again.  We look forward to having you join the Mars Hill team on this amazing exploration. We know: this trip looks like something that would be out of reach financially for most people. But we’re working hard to make this a legacy trip that is affordable for families, young leaders and disciples from all over the world, and we don’t want anybody to miss out on a chance to walk the land the disciples did because of money. So stay tuned for more info about the different ways we’re encouraging churches and communities to sponsor individuals' trips.
