A Global Fund for a Global Reach

Mars Hill Church comprises nine campuses with over 10,000 weekly attendees, but the extended family is much bigger and broader than that: For every Sunday attendee, eight to nine sermons are downloaded across the world. In the last month, our main website had over 426,000 visits from 178 countries. About three-quarters come from the U.S., followed by the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, South Africa, Brazil, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Singapore. There were also 122 visits from Botswana, 46 from Bolivia, 4 from Brunei, and one from Turkmenistan. Who are these people, our brothers and sisters around the globe? Here's one letter from Laura, who lives in Newcastle Upon Tyne, a couple hundred miles north of London on England's eastern coast:
I first heard about Mars Hill when my friend from church posted a link to Mark's Trial sermon about men and marriage on her Facebook page, with a comment explaining that this was why she was waiting for a godly man. I was intrigued, followed the link, watched the sermon, was blown away . . . I love the MH message of boldness and honesty – being real about being broken, sinful, struggling people – I think that can be more of a theory here than an admitted reality. I cherish your honesty.
Mars Hill is a church that passionately pursues more church plants and more campuses to get the gospel of Jesus to as many people in as many places in the world as possible. Why?
Because people need help. Because there are captives that need to be set free. And sometimes there are other churches and ministries that are the righteous poor and they just don’t have the money and resources for it, and if by God’s grace our people would be generous, we could give things away online, and we could bring people in for training and conferences, and we could record everything we do and equip those who love and serve and help others. For [the pastor who] doesn’t have access to resources, could we even use our technology to help him, help his people? Could he start Community Groups, could he start Redemption Groups, could he help set captives free, could he take those who are addicted and abused, those who have been molested and raped, those who have been under the control of others and substances and to do what Jesus says he can do, to set captives free? See, we don’t do that, Jesus does, that’s what he says. But if we belong to Jesus and he’s given us the Holy Spirit, then we want to be about his business because we love him and we appreciate him and we are so grateful for his work in our life to set us as captives free. And some of us are still fighting through our own captivity, but because of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, captives can be set free.
We want everyone to know Jesus, and we want their hearts to know and rest in him. Give to the Mars Hill Global Fund to support more campuses, more churches, and more resources to reach all people by all means for God's glory.
