Write January 15th, 2012 down in the back of your Bible. This is one of those days for Mars Hill Church that everything changes. By God’s grace, four new churches launch today in three states. We welcome Mars Hill Portland, Orange County, Rainier Valley, and Sammamish into the family. By God’s grace new people are coming, hearing about Jesus, and becoming Christians in droves. Over 1,300 people were baptized at Mars Hill this last year, and it seems like Jesus is entrusting us with a season of unusual grace.

God’s Work

We spent the last two months looking at what God is doing at Mars Hill, and we hope that you’ve been encouraged to see that God’s work is bigger than any of us. But it takes all of us to serve and give and keep telling more people about Jesus. This is a new season at Mars Hill. Through a huge amount of work from members, deacons, and elders, we’ve been able to open up thousands of new seats for new people to hear the Gospel of Jesus preached.

Real Marriage

The Real Marriage series is going to be a series that will draw a lot of new people. And you have a great opportunity to invite friends, family, and neighbors to come to church and hear about Jesus. There will be very practical teaching about marriage—but even more importantly we’re going to talk about how great marriages are rooted in Jesus.

Get Ready For

It may sound crazy, but because of all of the new people meeting Jesus, if you’ve been at Mars Hill for even six months you’re already a Mars Hill veteran (so don’t be afraid to take initiative and connect with other people).

Ways to Connect:

• Say, ”Hi,” and get the name of a few people around you on Sunday
• Help a new person get to the connect desk to find a community group
• Invite a new person out to lunch with your community group
• Sign up to be a volunteer at the connect desk
• Invite people on your Facebook or Twitter account to come to church with you.

We’re excited to see what Jesus has in store for 2012. We’re praying for more lives changed, more marriages healed, and more people meeting Jesus! Thank you for joining with us on the great mission from God.
