Do you give glory or praise to God when life is going well? What about when things are really hard? Is it even possible to face hard circumstances in a way that reflects that we trust God in everything? Does that seem like a big concept but you are unsure what it means?
Whether life is easy or hard, we can quickly get caught up in our daily responsibilities and forget to stop and think about how God sees what we are doing.
I will be taking the story of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36–46), which is mentioned in three of the four Gospels, and sharing the best example we have of giving God glory in the hardest of circumstances. How could he have possibly still followed through with the Father’s will for a horrendous, shameful death on the cross? We see Jesus as fully human, in dire anguish, brutally honest, lonely, about to face death and separation from the Father, and calling upon his friends to pray. We will look at how the disciples responded to Jesus, how Jesus responded to the Father, and how we can respond.
All women from all the Mars Hill churches are invited to join us for a day of teaching, singing, praying, and community-building. I encourage you to take full advantage of these opportunities to learn together, so we can grow spiritually and practically in our relationships with Jesus and each other.
