Life at Mars Hill 8/20/12

Hundreds from Mars Hill West Seattle gathered at Alki Beach on Wednesday for their annual Beach Baptisms and BBQ.

The West Seattle worship band Battle Hymn played before the baptisms.

The baptisms took place in the Puget Sound.

The whole church lined up along the water's edge to watch the baptisms.

Baptisms tallied on a scrap of paper. The final count for the evening was 18 baptisms. Only six people had signed up early to be baptized, and the other 12 decided on the spot that night to be baptized!

Up in the U-District, people filed into one of the church's two evening services.
