What it will take

I am really, really excited, Mars Hill Orange County. The things we’ve seen Jesus do in the first eight months of being a church are nothing short of, well, miraculous. If he continues to pour his grace on us, it doesn’t matter where we worship—be it a bar, a school, a park, or the beach! Even though it is temporary, Jesus has really blessed us with Orangewood, and I’m excited to see what he does in us and through us while we’re there. Here are a couple of things it will take.

Generosity

We are not able to use any of the school’s production gear, so we need to supply our own. All of the production gear (sound, video, lights) and portable gear (trailer, cases for hospitality and kids, etc.) will cost us $93,000. The amazing news is that some people have already given generously and we already have $32,700 (or 28%) raised! We now as a church have the opportunity to raise the remaining 72%, or $60,300, above and beyond our normal tithing.

Leaders and volunteers

Moving to a new location will take more leaders and volunteers across the board. We need more Community Group leaders, kids’ ministry volunteers, production volunteers, band leaders and musicians—you name it. Mars Hill Church is more like a battleship than a cruise ship—we’re on mission, it’s all hands on deck, and everyone has a role.

It's All About Jesus

Jesus was a man who claimed to be God. Think on that for a minute. If that were true, how would it change the way you thought, felt, and lived this life?

At Mars Hill, we believe that Jesus is God. We take him at his word. Because of this, everything we do is all about Jesus. We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in him.

What to Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. There are three main parts to every Sunday service: preaching, worship, and kids. To learn more about each of these, click the links below.

The Mars Hill Guide Leadership at Mars Hill

We value community

Church is more than a service. It’s people living life together and helping one another throughout our cities to serve our cities. Each week, thousands of people at Mars Hill meet in hundreds of small communities to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. We call these Community Groups—and they’re the heart of our church.

Cheerful givers wanted

Jesus is the most generous person who ever lived. He gave his life so that we might live. As Christians, we give our time, talent, and money joyfully in response to Jesus’ generosity and to help more people meet Jesus.
