The Technology Department at Mars Hill Church is looking for a Technology Manager to oversee daily operations across the Mars Hill network of churches. The Technology Manager will also need to be a strategic leader and have a desire to invest in and lead the Technology Department staff and volunteers. Begun in 1996, Mars Hill Church is now widely regarded as one of the most innovative and fastest growing churches in the world, in large part because of the way we aggressively approach both ministry and technology. While seen as world class in preaching and award winning design, Mars Hill Church seeks to also utilize technology in creative and inventive ways that will serve to facilitate the expansion of Mars Hill to 25,000 worshipers of Jesus in the coming years as well as provide resources for other churches and organizations for the advancement of the gospel. *ROLE SUMMARY:* This position is responsible for providing leadership and management oversight of the technology vision, strategy, budget, operations, staff and volunteers in the Technology Department at Mars Hill Church. The Technology Manager will provide insight on IT functionality enhancing and advancing the strategic plan objectives. This position also works to ensure that technologies are appropriate, cost effective and current to meet the objectives and needs of the church. *YOU ARE:* * Able to fulfill the duties required of Mars Hill Church members as outlined in the membership covenant. * Able to fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in the Scriptures. * A leader who is able to shepherd and disciple others. * Are organized and can anticipate and thrive in a rapidly changing environment. * Passionate about providing top-notch service. * A person will strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills. * A person who has sound judgment, takes initiative, and embraces change. * Someone with previous network design and administration experience, including hands-on experience with hardware, software, and advanced network troubleshooting and design. *YOU KNOW:* * Mac OSX and Windows operating system environments. * Enterprise level networks, servers, and desktop technologies. * More than a little about Microsoft Office and Apple iWork. * How to leverage technology, systems and processes in a timeframe and method that is relevant to the church’s operations and strategy. * How to effectively communicate with people when technology is failing them. * How to recruit, train, and lead volunteers. *YOU WILL BE:* * Overseeing the planning and implementation of supporting infrastructure church-wide and engaging appropriate staff and vendors to maintain equipment and services. * Researching, assessing, and recommending emerging technologies that support organizational needs and providing business case data for senior level leadership evaluation. * Increasing communication of ongoing technology initiatives to both internal staff as well as external organizations. * Directly supervising helpdesk and technology staff. * Anticipating future technology needs and coordinating with leadership and staff to assess and respond to needs and identify proactive solutions. * Overseeing the administration of LAN and WAN network, services and interface equipment to provide system stability and integrity. * Developing policies and procedures in network system use, administration, and maintenance and maintaining tools to monitor network traffic and identify bottlenecks. * Overseeing planning, development, proper design and execution of network strategies, which will include service agreements and support protocols. * Establishing and maintaining procedures for regular preventative maintenance with vendors and service providers.
