Mars Hill Church’s mission is to plant churches and make disciples. As an organization, Mars Hill continues to grow in size, complexity, and influence. Without strong church-wide oversight, the numerous departments, churches, and ministries of Mars Hill risk drifting away from each other and the mission. Mars Hill is looking for someone who shares this conviction and wants to contribute to the central operations of the church.The Chief Marketing Officer bridges the gap between high-level visionary leaders and ground-level operations implementers by creating and managing effective organizational structures, communication systems, necessary policies, and strategic plans.
The ideal candidate has a high degree of commitment to serve the church by properly stewarding the day to day operations and finances of the church. This person must be highly organized, detail oriented, task focused, relationally motivated, have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be a strong leader and manager of people and processes.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Chief Marketing Officer will report to the Executive Elder and must maintain full “battlefield awareness” of all operations across Mars Hill Church. The primary areas of oversight are Communications, Creative and Development Departments. It is the responsibility of the Chief Marketing Officer to effectively oversee the management of the day-to-day operations of these departments in Mars Hill Church.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Fulfill the duties required of Mars Hill Church members as outlined in the membership covenant.
- Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in the Scriptures.
- Proven leadership track record and a clear calling for church leadership.
- Professional-level skills and experience in business, project management, and leadership.
- Bachelors or graduate degree in business or related field.
- Strong communication abilities in writing and in person.
- Unquestionable integrity and trustworthiness with confidential and sensitive information.
- Dependable, flexible, humble and a genial disposition.
- Anticipate and thrive in rapidly changing environment requiring frequent adjustment of job roles and duties.
- Exhibit a “whatever it takes” attitude.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee management of day to day operations of Media/Creative and Communications departments and the directors of each department.
- Serve as direct liaison with the Executive Elders, other directors, and additional departments as needed, and endeavor to maintain good rapport with them at all times.
- Initial direct reports include directors of Media/Creative and Communications departments.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of the Executive Elders Team’s short-term and long-term plans.
- Maintain regular communication regarding the status of the projects with Executive Elder & other relevant staff.
- Develop, equip, and edify those under your management.
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hours: 40+ hours per week
Location: Central Offices | Seattle, WA (Ballard)
Vacation: Three weeks floating vacation plus one week at Christmas
