Production Technology Manager

The Development Group at Mars Hill Church is looking for a Production Technology hire to support, develop and execute the growth strategy of the church.

The Development Group serves the mission of Mars Hill Church by partnering in the planting of new Mars Hill Church locations and leading a variety of other capital initiatives. We oversee these developments through real estate, design, construction, production technology, and portable systems. We get a front row seat to see Jesus build his church and by God’s grace, there are many exciting opportunities at hand and ahead.

ROLE SUMMARY

This is an associate-level position working as part of the Development Group and assisting the Production Technology Director with his project work. Broadly this will include: drafting, coordinating, and helping review request for proposals; contract administration; administrating our growing portfolio of projects, proposals and initiatives; helping build a diverse vendor database; and attending regular project meetings.

  • A strong communicator both written and in person.
  • Educated with a minimum of a Bachelors degree with 2-5 years work experience in production at a mega-church.

  • How to make technology decisions in the best interest of the church.
  • How to draft and review a request for proposal.
  • How to professionally communicate with high-level decision makers.
  • How to assess a building’s potential as a future church location.
  • How to juggle more than one competing assignment with tight deadlines.
  • What a set of design documents and block diagrams look like.
  • How to lead a high-performing team in a God-honoring way.
  • Mac OSX and Windows operating system environments.
  • More than a little about Microsoft Office, Apple iWork and AutoCAD.

YOU WILL BE

  • Supporting, developing and executing the best production technology strategy for church growth.
  • Deciding what audio, video and lighting equipment we install in Mars Hill Churches.
  • Defining the project scope and budget that is appropriate for each project.
  • Drafting, reviewing and coordinating request for proposals.
  • Overseeing the integration of new audio, video, lighting and acoustical systems.
  • Working in a fast-paced, high-stakes, ‘newsroom’ environment.
  • Writing, editing, and adapting Development Group content for both internal and external publication including reporting.

Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hours: 40+ hours per week
Location: Central Offices | Seattle, WA (Ballard)
Vacation: Two weeks floating vacation plus one week at Christmas
