Journalist
Mars Hill Church’s mission is to plant churches and make disciples. Begun in 1996, Mars Hill Church is now widely regarded as one of the most innovative churches in the world, in large part because of the amount of free content we publish. The Communications department helps direct the air war, the most visible ministries of the church that reach the largest audience through websites, publications, blogs, social media, public relations and the media library. We are currently looking for a journalist to help capture and communicate stories from churches in the Acts 29 Network through written stories, photo essays and documentaries.
What we need in you:
You are someone who loves to travel and tell the story of Jesus’ church. You self manage well, are proactive, and can hit deadlines in any situation. You are energized by meeting and interacting with people. You are a world class writer and can tell people’s stories well. You love Jesus and want to see others love him too. You are adaptable, quick thinking, and can problem solve without hesitation. You can effectively be a part of an interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
- Fulfill the duties required of Mars Hill Church members as outlined in the membership covenant.
- Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in the Scriptures.
- Bachelors degree in journalism, communications, or equivalent experience required.
- Experience in journalism and travel.
- Portfolio with feature cover length articles in reputable publications.
